INDONESIA TO JOIN SATTEE 2023 TOURISM EXHIBITION IN NEW DELHI, INDIA

IN COLLLABORATION with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) New Delhi, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will participate in the “South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2023” which will take place on February 9-11, 2023 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, New Delhi, India.

Indonesia’s participation in the largest business to business (B2B) tourism exchange in South Asia is an effort to maintain the existence of Indonesian tourism in the South Asia region and increase tourist visits from India to Indonesia.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in his statement, in Jakarta, Monday (02/06), 2023) explained that the number of Indian tourist visits after the pandemic has shown a positive trend again. This is because India entered the top five countries with the highest number of foreign tourist visits in Indonesia and second in Bali, after Australia in the 2022 period.

“For our international promotion strategy, we are focusing on our key tourism markets, including India with its tremendous growth in foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia. This increase in foreign tourists increases the percentage of lodging which automatically opens more business opportunities and creates new and quality jobs,” Sandiaga said.

Under the Wonderful Indonesia brand, 43 selected tourism industry players will participate in the tourism exhibition to offer various attractive tour packages. Consisting of travel agents / tour operators, hotels, and tourist attractions.

Five Super Priority Tourism Destinations, namely Borobudur, Lake Toba, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Likupang will be introduced in the exhibition. Including Bali which is a favorite destination for Indian tourists.

In this exhibition, Indonesia highlights four segments for the Indian market, including weddings, honeymoons, families, and MICE which have become the leading segments for the Indian market. The Ministry of Tourism seeks to adapt to other markets that are considered potential. Therefore, this year the Indonesian pavilion also presents a luxury zone for B2B transactions focusing on the luxury segment. This zone will be filled by seven industry players consisting of hotels, resorts, and villas that offer luxury properties equipped with unique and authentic experiences.

Meanwhile, Deputy of Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, added that SATTE will be Wonderful Indonesia’s first participation in an overseas travel exchange in 2023. This Sales Mission aims to connect sellers from Indonesia and buyers from India, as well as provide the latest information on Indonesian tourism including applicable policies.

Moreover, Bali has become top of mind for Indian tourists in the honeymoon and wedding segments. Given India’s increasing economic growth and inbound tourists rising 3,870% by 2022.

“We are starting to target the luxury segment of the Indian market, because we believe that India’s purchasing power is growing and we need to explore a wider spectrum of segmentation,” Made concluded. [traveltext.id]
