THE MERUORAH LABUAN BAJO HOTEL THE MAIN VENUE FOR ASEAN SUMMIT 2023

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, April 22, 2023. The Presidential plane carrying Jokowi and First Lady Iriana Jokowi from Solo, Central Java, landed at Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport at around 18:44 Wita.

From the airport, the Head of State and his entourage headed to Meruorah Labuan Bajo Hotel. In that place, Jokowi and Iriana Jokowi stayed overnight. Jokowi’s visit to Labuan Bajo this time was to check the preparation of the ASEAN Summit which will be held in May 2023.

Apparently, Meruorah Hotel Labuan Bajo is the Main Venue for the ASEAN Summit. Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo Hotel belongs to PT Indonesia Ferry Properti, a joint venture of two SOEs, namely PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) and PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk.

The hotel with a capacity of 145 rooms is also equipped with a multifunction hall with a capacity of 1,000 people and the Plaza Marina Labuan Bajo commercial area.

Quoting from kompas.com, President Director of PT Indonesia Ferry Properti, Ferry Snyders said that all facilities and services of the Meruorah Labuan Bajo Hotel as the Main Venue for the 2023 ASEAN Summit are ready for use.

According to him, all operational improvements and supporting facilities after President Joko Widodo’s visit last March have been completed. The Labuan Bajo Integrated Marina Area, especially the Meruorah Hotel as the Main Venue for the 2023 ASEAN Summit, will provide excellent service during the summit activities.

It is said that in the future the Labuan Bajo Marina Integrated Area will become a leading international standard tourism area which will be equipped with a Marina with a capacity of 135 Berths, Beach Club and Scale Hotel.

Ferry added, the development of the Labuan Bajo Marina Area is a step of transformation and innovation in the waterfront property business on assets owned by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry to support increased tourist visits to the Labuan Bajo Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP).

“It is hoped that the ASEAN Summit activities in Labuan Bajo can increase the potential for foreign and domestic tourism. In the future, Labuan Bajo can serve other international events,” Ferry concluded.  [sources/photo special]
