VIETNAM a country in Southeast Asia that borders Laos and Cambodia, is now becoming a tourist destination that is increasingly in demand by visitors from Indonesia.
This was conveyed by Vietjet Air’s Vice President for Commercial, Jay L. Lingeswara at the “Launching of Vietjet Air Flight Services for the Jakarta-Ho Chi Minh City Route” in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/26), 2023. The high interest of the Indonesian people to travel to Vietnam has made Vietjet Air as an airline from Vietnam provide a new route from Jakarta to Ho Chi Minh City.
“Indonesia is a big market. In fact, flights from Bali to Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi or vice versa can reach up to 5 flights a day when the holiday season arrives,” said Jay.
The country of Vietnam offers a variety of cultures, beautiful natural scenery, and delicious culinary tours for visitors. This is the main attraction for Indonesian tourists to travel there.
There are several favorite destinations for visitors while in Vietnam, namely Da Nang, Ha Long Bay, Son Doong Cave, Phu Quoc Islands, Cam Ranh Bay, the ancient city of Hue, Hoi An, and others. Ho Chi Minh City is one of the popular destinations in Vietnam and many visitors from Indonesia visit the area.
In Ho Chi Min City, visitors can visit various historical sites and a variety of culinary offerings, from Michelin-awarded restaurants to street food. The prices offered also vary and can be selected according to each budget.
Several historical sites that can be visited in the city include the Saigon Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica, Ben Thanh market, and a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Uniquely, some of these historical sites are relics from the French colonial era when they occupied Vietnam.

Jay said visitors can visit Vietnam all year round because Ho Chi Min City, one of the destination cities for Vietjet Air flight routes, has the same climate as Indonesia. In addition, visitors can also enjoy cities that have colder or winter climates, such as the Hanoi, Sa Pa, Mau Son, and Phia Oac areas.
