STANDARD PROCEDURES FOR TOUR BOATS IN LABUAN BAJO TO BE PREPARED SOON

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy stated that standard procedures for tourist boats wishing to sail in the Komodo National Park area, Labuan Bajo, would soon be drafted as guidelines.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, Monday (7/24), 2023 responding to the sinking of the KLM tourist ship Sahabat Baik in the waters of Pink Beach, Komodo National Park, Saturday (7/22), 2023 through the rapid movement of forming a team to administer a standard procedure for tour boats.

“For this reason, we have coordinated with maritime tourism stakeholders in Labuan Bajo to improve governance and control of operational standards and procedures. The Ministry continues to encourage the authorities to carry out investigations and investigations into these violations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to provide a deterrent effect to perpetrators and serve as a warning to other business actors,” he said.

Previously the Tourisn Minister also heard of the disaster that occurred in Central Buton, Southeast Sulawesi. The ferry boat carrying passengers from Lanto Village to Lagili Village, sank in Central Mawasangka Bay, reportedly 15 fatalities in the tragedy.

“Our condolences and condolences to the families of the victims, our prayers and thoughts go out to those affected by this incident. Hopefully the victims who are still in the search stage by the joint SAR Team can be found soon,” he remarked.

For now there are recommendations submitted regarding the Standard Classification of Indonesian Employment (KBLI) 50113,” he said.

KBLI 50113 covers businesses in the transportation business group for tourism or for recreation at sea, including marine tourism whose main activity is for recreational fishing at sea using fishing vessels. Including rental business following sea transport operators.

“A joint service office will be realized at the Labuan Bajo Waterfront. All components are ready to collaborate to make that happen. Every tourist ship is required to have an office and the local government will accelerate the availability of regulations in Labuan Bajo.
