THE CONSTRUCTION of the Sukarno statue in the Walini Plantation Area, Cikalongwetan District, West Bandung Regency (KBB) is said to have entered the permitting stage. The Sukarno statue is planned to be built as high as 100-meters on 1,270 hectares of land with an investment value of IDR10 trillion.
According to West Bandung Regent Hengky Kurniawan, the investment value of IDR10 trillion will be used to build integrated housing, offices and business centers. The statue of Indonesia’s first President will be built by the Ciputra consortium, PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) VIII, and artist Nyoman Nuarta.
“Actually, the 10 trillion is not just the construction of the Soekarno statue, but an area that maybe if it is accumulated with other developments it can be more. Maybe IDR20 trillion because the area that will be built is almost like Kota Baru Parahyangan, 1,270 hectares,” said Hengky when met in Lembang, Tuesday (8/15), 2023.
Hengky said that the Sukarno statue would be made by artist Nyoman Nuarta. This magnificent statue embodies the giant Bung Karno who is sitting wearing a cap and looking to the right.
“I already know from Ciputra and the private sector that they have presented it to me. I said that Maman as DPMPTSP is the principal license for gas, whatever Ciputra and Nyoman Nuarta need, anyone who is investing in West Bandung Regency today must be assisted,” Hengky said.
The City of Walini Raya is projected to become an international-class business center with environmentally friendly settlements. In addition to turning land into a business and housing center, the City of Walini Raya also carries the concept of tourism that is mutually integrated with other sectors.
“The concept is that there will be tourist objects, then there will be offices, then there will also be residential properties, so there will be housing with tourism and offices,” Hengky remarked.
Access in the City of Walini Raya is the lifeblood of the wheels of the economy, main highways and toll access will also be built. The new toll gate in Cikalongwetan District is planned to be built soon as the gateway to the City of Walini Raya.
“The plan is to open a new toll gate at kilometer 106 of the Cipularang toll road. So access is also made. Based on the circulating design, this very majestic and towering statue of Soekarno can be seen in a sitting position with his head equipped with a cap looking to the right and at the bottom there is buildings and greenery,” he added.
He explained that at first the statue would stand up, but it would sit down because it was too high so it could disrupt the flight trajectory and could cost a lot more. Currently, the licensing process for the construction of the statue is ongoing and the process of studying the contours and feasibility of the land is also being carried out to make it safer from various potential natural disasters, especially earthquakes.
“The studies with LIPI ITB have been finalized, yesterday it started an environmental impact analysis (Amdal) and is now in the permitting process, if the Conformity of Spatial Utilization Activities (KKPR) has been issued,” he concluded. [sources/photo special]
