SUPPORTING TOURISM, H3 HELD A SUMMIT 2023 SEMINAR & CONFERENCE

THE HOTEL Public Relations Association (H3) as a professional public relations and communications organization in the Indonesian tourism sector has organized the H3 Summit 2023 – Seminar and National Conference with the theme ‘The Role of Hotel Public Relations in Facing Indonesian (RI) Tourism Prospects in 2024’ on Monday, (9/25), 2023 located at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy.

According to Yulia Maria, Chairperson of H3, in her speech at the opening of the H3 Summit, said this event aims to learn more about Indonesia’s tourism prospects in 2024 and to understand the role of hotel public relations from the perspective of hotel industry players.

“The H3 Summit is an important momentum in an annual work programme that is useful, informative and inspiring to share the latest insights, best practices and emerging opportunities in the hotel and tourism industry. In this seminar, we will explore various aspects of public communications and public relations management in the context of hotels and tourism,” said Yulia.

Yulia Maria explained that the H3 Summit 2023 is expected to raise the awareness of all stakeholders, not only hotel executives, but also public relations professionals themselves. In the future, the paradigm of the hotel PR profession will change to become more skilled and the spearhead of the Indonesian hotel and tourism world.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in his virtual remarks said that through the presentation of material presented by resource persons from each industry, it could be concluded that the aim of this event was to create a barometer of the role of Hotel Public Relations in supporting Indonesia’s tourism program in 2024.

“As Indonesian tourism continues to grow after the pandemic, Indonesian tourism has been confirmed as the best tourism destination in the world, and it is hoped that the Hotel Public Relations Association (H3) will want to know more deeply about the role of hotel public relations in facing Indonesia’s tourism prospects in 2024,” said Sandiaga Uno.

Meanwhile Hariyadi BS Sukamdani, M.M. The General Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (PHRI) and the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) said that as a form of synergy with government programs, the industry should participate in increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian tourism by providing support and participating in strategic efforts to improve Indonesian tourism in accordance with Top Bottom 3 pillars, namely Environmental Sustainability, Health and Hygiene, and Tourist Service Infrastructure.

“This departs from thoughts in several countries, especially after the pandemic is over, the borders are open, tourism has started to move, Indonesia has also started to wake up and even very good development, foreign tourists are coming,” he commented

Likewise, Yoesman Sugianto, Senior Vice President Commercial of InJourney, said as you know, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and InJourney have synergized and collaborated intensely to fulfill Indonesia’s mission to become a superior tourism destination.

“As apart from that, there were also synergies in the development of five Super Priority Destinations (DSP), namely Mandalika in Lombok, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Likupang in North Sulawesi, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, and Borobudur (Joglosemar ) in Central Java,” Yoesman said.

He described that this step is an effort to realize an integrated tourism ecosystem, especially in developing the main elements of tourism, attractions, accommodation, and accessibility (3A) in these leading destinations, and we will also focus on the development and creation of potential and large domestic tourism potential, as well as integrating it into an ecosystem from upstream to downstream.

“InJourney will focus on developing the potential of domestic tourism considering that international travel restrictions are still limited by targeting domestic tourist visits of 330 million tourists this year. Meanwhile, the target of foreign tourists is 17 million tourists,” he elaborated.

He concluded that collaborations to build sustainable tourism, creating sustainable tourism through collaborations and partnerships with the tourism private sector, communities and government will secure the future of Indonesian tourism. For the sustainability of the industry and a meaningful contribution to the economy. Let’s all partner to work together, to involve, educate, develop and integrate.
