THE SINGAPORE Tourism Board (STB) has extended its collaboration with travel platform Traveloka to encourage interest from tourists from Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries to visit Singapore.
The collaboration, which was tied to the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, which was carried out in Jakarta, Wednesday (01/17), 2024, is in line with Singapore’s steps in welcoming the growing number of tourist visits from Indonesia.
“Seeing that the tourism sector is increasingly recovering in the Southeast Asia region, this partnership will help unlock the rich tourism potential of Southeast Asia and Indonesia, help us understand consumers better, and strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading destination for Southeast Asian tourists,” said the Executive Director STB Southeast Asia Terrence Voon.
Of all tourist arrivals from countries in Southeast Asia to Singapore, which reached 4.78 million, Indonesian tourists dominate with a total of 2.06 million, making it Singapore’s main market in 2023.
Apart from attracting more visitors to Singapore, the collaboration also emphasizes the exchange of insights and the discovery of new perspectives that can increase visitor engagement. One of these collaborations is that STB and Traveloka will exchange insights to develop more targeted promotional campaigns and create travel experiences that are more in line with tourist preferences.
Drawing on the expertise of each party, this collaboration will improve the overall visitor experience and drive a positive impact on the Southeast Asian economy.
“Singapore is in an important position as one of the top international destinations where we see a surge in flight searches of almost three times throughout 2023 compared to the previous year. We are very enthusiastic about continuing our partnership with STB to provide more added value for consumers, including their holiday plans in Singapore,” added Traveloka President Caesar Indra.
STB and Traveloka plan to run marketing initiatives such as influencer travel introducing various destinations and creating video assets for production on digital channels and social media. [antaranews]
