COORDINATING Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto expressed optimism that Indonesia’s stable economic condition coupled with controlled inflation and a good consumer confidence index (CCI) can become the capital to bolster national economic transformation.
“This condition is a strong capital to bolster the foundation of economic transformation. Indonesia’s economic condition is currently relatively stable, marked by growth in the first quarter of 2024, reaching 5.11% year-on-year (yoy), and low inflation in May 2024 at 2.84 percent yoy, as well as CCI, which is at an optimistic level,” he said.
Apart from that, he stated that Indonesia’s manufacturing activity also remained expansive, while the poverty and open unemployment rates continued to decline.
To maintain this economic optimism and achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision, Hartarto affirmed that his ministry would continue to strive to encourage comprehensive and sustainable economic transformation.
He further explained that this is carried out by increasing investment, competitiveness, industrial added value and productivity; empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); encouraging equitable development; and driving connectivity.
The ministry has also proposed more than 70 work programs, both priority and regular, with the possibility of additions, mergers, and program development.
Those programs are created in line with the theme of the 2025 Government Work Plan, namely “Accelerating Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth.”
They are derivatives of several national priority programs, such as food self-sufficiency, Islamic economy, digital economy, green economy, infrastructure development, entrepreneurship, and industrial agromaritime development.
“To achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision, economic growth must be pushed to be in the range of six to seven percent, with GNI (gross national income) per capita of US$30,300,” the minister concluded. [antaranews]
