THE MINISTRY of Tourism is working with tourism associations as an important part of consolidation and cooperation to share insights to navigate the direction of tourism sector development.
According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, in an event titled “Collaboration with Tourism Associations to Strengthen Tourism” at Puri Santrian Sanur, Bali, Thursday (11/21), 2024, emphasized the importance of collaboration with various parties to strengthen the tourism sector in Bali.
“Thank you for the aspirations that have been conveyed, I am very happy to be able to hear the aspirations of all of you directly. It is also a pleasure to meet and discuss with the Chairman and Management of the Bali Tourism Association,” said Ni Luh Puspa.
At the meeting, various strategic discussions were held to identify obstacles, challenges and opportunities in the world of Balinese tourism.
Regarding the Tourism Association, the meeting found that the regulation of entrepreneurs is very necessary in creating a structured and sustainable tourism ecosystem. In addition, efforts are also needed to strengthen the role of the tourism association to work with other stakeholders to support the performance of the government, especially the Ministry of Tourism.
“In the future, we also need to strengthen disaster mitigation to reduce losses when there is an event that has a major impact on the tourism sector. For example, the impact of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which has an impact on the cancellation of international and domestic flights, even up to 6,000 tourists have the potential to cancel their trips,” she said.
She also emphasized that the Ministry of Tourism is determined to continue strengthening the tourism industry in Bali. One of them is by supporting the use of programs that can increase the capacity of tourism industry players so that they can go global and accelerate economic growth.
There are several quick win programs in promoting tourism that have been prepared by the Ministry of Tourism. The consolidation of these various programs aims to optimize the potential of different sectors of the economy in the future, hopefully increasing the achievement of goals and contributions to the national economy.
“I strongly believe that through meetings like this, we can together formulate concrete steps to develop the tourism industry in the future,” she stated.
The Ministry of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa said, will also continue to be present and accompany industry players and the Bali Tourism Association in making Indonesian tourism a sustainable world-class destination. [traveltext.id]
