THE NATIONAL airline PT Garuda Indonesia will reduce ticket prices especially for domestic routes from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025.
According to Garuda Indonesia President Director Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan, said through a written statement received in Tangerang on Friday, said that the implementation of the policy to reduce flight ticket prices for the Christmas and New Year period is a follow-up to the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
“We understand the public’s need for affordable air travel services, especially in the midst of preparations for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays. Therefore, intensive coordination efforts have been intensified so far with all stakeholders to further discuss the policy implementation instructions to ensure smooth technical implementation on the ground,” he said.
He explained that the effort to reduce ticket prices is aimed at helping the public to ease the burden of traveling before the long holiday season. This will also support the recovery of the economic sector, especially the tourism and creative industries.
“This ticket price reduction has also been carefully calculated by taking into account the forecast of passenger growth during the year-end holidays. Therefore, with the implementation of this ticket price reduction, we are optimistic that passenger volume will grow positively, which will certainly have a direct impact on Garuda Indonesia’s revenue performance,” he stated.
He added that the implementation plan for the implementation of the policy to reduce airline ticket prices, which has previously been thoroughly reviewed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, in this case the Airline Ticket Price Reduction Task is expected to be a concrete step that will have a positive impact on increasing public mobility, especially during the peak season of the end-of-year holidays,” he said.
“In this regard, Garuda Indonesia welcomes the solidarity among all stakeholders to reduce air ticket prices during the end-of-year holidays.
