TRUMP RESTRICTS VISAS FROM 41 COUNTRIES TO ENTER US, HERE’s THE COMPLETE LIST

PRESIDENT of the United States (US) Donald Trump is reportedly going to restrict visits and travel to the US for foreign citizens from dozens of countries. This is done to minimize security threats and risks.

Reporting from Reuters, Saturday (03/15), 2025 according to sources familiar with the matter, the ban and restrictions on visas to visit the US will be applied to 41 countries divided into 3 groups.

The first group consists of 10 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba and North Korea, among others. The countries in this group will be designated for full visa suspension.

Then, in the second group, five countries including Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, and South Sudan will also face a partial suspension that will affect tourist and student visas as well as other immigrant visas, with some exceptions.

The third group consists of 26 countries, including Belarus, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan. The countries will be considered for a partial suspension of U.S. visas if their governments do not make efforts to address the cuts within 60 days.

A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, cautioned that the list could change and had not been approved by the administration, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The list of countries was first reported by The New York Times in an internal government memo.

President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Jan. 20 calling for enhanced security vetting of foreigners seeking to enter the U.S. to detect national security threats.

The order directed several Cabinet members to submit by March 21 a list of countries whose travel should be partially or fully suspended because their vetting and screening information is critically lacking.

Trump’s directive was part of a broader immigration crackdown he launched early in his second term. The move echoes Donald Trump’s first-term ban on travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries, a policy that went through several iterations before being upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018.

He previewed his plan in a speech in October 2023, promising to restrict people from Gaza, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and other countries deemed a threat to U.S. security. The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from local media.
