THE Ministry of Tourism said the tourism sector could be the answer for many parties who had concerns about the impact of the implementation of new tariff policies by the United States Government (US).

Understanding at the 37th Cap-CSA UN Tourism Press Conference in Jakarta recently.

Martini explained that through the tourism sector, a country’s government can get information about current market needs and find investors to increase their country’s income.

It was noted that Indonesian gastronomic tourism was strong with various types of spices, so to create a program titled “Indonesia Spice Up the World”.

“We want to strengthen the opportunities and strengths of stakeholders in terms of gastronomic development. But there is also a purpose for us to develop, not to develop, but to promote the restaurant industry abroad. Of course, in terms of gastronomy, we cannot work alone, because this is also related to the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture,” she said.

In terms of fitness tourism, he said the facilities offered would be associated with medical benefits, both from the treatment or prevention of a disease. The market potential of fitness is considered to be in great demand by tourists.

An interesting experience offered in the form of spa, acquainted with local herbs to healthy food. While marine tourism is being introduced by Indonesia as the largest archipelago in the world.

Through this trend, the government is trying to find gaps that can increase tourists’ interest in coming to the country, for example through various community events and so on.

Martini also admitted that so far the government continues to learn best practices from other countries to increase tourism development in the islands of Indonesia.

One of them is to find parties that have great potential in tourism to invest there. The investment will encourage the development of tourism facilities that can be used by tourists, such as resorts.

“We believe that these four programs, the four tourist attractions (three target markets based on interest and community events) are one of the keys that we can develop in the short and medium term,” Martini concluded. [traveltext.id]
