AS IT is known, the management of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Complex, which was previously under the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), has been transferred to Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).
According to the Director General of the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPK GBK), Hadi Sulistia, the legal process for the Sultan Hotel continues even though the responsibility of managing GBK is changing.
“The legal process will continue. The summons to PT Indobuildco to carry out the eviction has been sent. The hotel, located in the GBK complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, has become a bone of contention between the government and Pontjo Sutowo, the owner of PT Indobuildco, which manages the hotel.
PT Indobuildco is said to have to vacate the Sultan Hotel immediately because the validity period of HGB has expired since March 2023. But PT Indobuildco did not heed the warning.
In fact, there was no activity to empty the hotel until the deadline on September 29, 2023 at 24:00 WIB. Then PPK GBK warned that the Sultan Hotel would be emptied on October 4, 2023.
After several rounds of legal efforts, the Ministry of Neg finally sent a summons to PT Indobuildco. The summons was sent towards the end of 2024.
“If PT Indobuildco does not respond to the summons, the Ministry of Neg together with PPK GBK will certainly immediately take the next legal channel in accordance with the applicable regulations,” Hadi said.
