MINISTRY EXPLAINS THE NEXT PROGRAMS OF EKRAF AT DPR COMMISSION VII

THE MINISTRY of Creative Economy (Ekraf) presented an update on the accomplishments and obstacles encountered during the implementation of Asta Ekraf’s flagship program. This briefing was held during a Working Meeting (Raker) with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VII in the Nusantara I building of the Jakarta DPR/MPR Complex on Thursday, (06/26), 2025.

Minister of Creative Economy (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky, explained that the challenges of implementing Asta Ekraf. He noted that this initiative must be supported by data and funds to formulate policies that are more targeted in developing the creative economy in the regions.

“Regarding the strengthening of the data, we are preparing a collaboration with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the 2026 National Economic Census, which is carried out every ten years. In addition, we collaborate with the Ministry of Law to compile data concerning intellectual property rights for activists from various regions in Indonesia 2025.

Following the presentation, Teuku Riefky elaborated on the synergy of Ekraf, which has successfully established 28 Joint Understanding (MoU) and 2 Cooperation Agreements (PKS) with numerous strategic partners, both domestically and internationally. One of them is a Joint Decree (SKB) that has been in effect, namely in conjunction with the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding regulations or legal basis for the formation of the Creative Economy Office in the provinces and districts of cities in Indonesia.

The Ministry of Ekraf has identified four key targets for achieving its mission. Exports, investments, employment, and contributions to GDP by Ekraf. Therefore, it is essential to enhance financing mechanisms that align with the unique characteristics of the creative industry sector and fortify fiscal incentives to attract investors in specific creative economic subsectors,” he stated

During the meeting, Minister Teuku Riefky highlighted the accomplishments of eight clusters under the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) Program, collectively referred to as Ekraf Data, Ekraf Bijak, Talenta Ekraf, Infra Ekraf, Sinergi Ekraf, Pasar Ekraf, Dana Ekraf, dan Ekraf Kaya.

In response to the presentation, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, the Chairperson of the Meeting and Chair of VII of the Indonesian Parliament, stated in his conclusion that the objective of this meeting is to formulate the policies and programs of the Ministry of Ekraf to create a favorable creative industrial ecosystem in Indonesia.

“We respectfully request that the Ministry of Creative Economy consider increasing financing opportunities for entrepreneurs in the creative economy, with a particular emphasis on inclusive financing for disability groups, women, and indigenous communities. Furthermore, the Ministry of Ekraf is tasked with fostering the development of cooperative-based creative economies within regional areas, according to Saleh.

Saleh stated that the Ministry of Ekraf must continue its collaboration with relevant ministries and institutions to enhance IPR (intellectual property rights) awareness among creative economy entrepreneurs, emphasizing its role in safeguarding their interests. [traveltext.id]
