FOLLOWING Lion Air, the Super Air Jet airline has also set a new baggage rule of 10 kilograms (kg) per person, effective Wednesday, July 17, 2025.
“This adjustment is made so that travel feels simpler, more efficient, and, of course, remains comfortable amidst the ever-changing mobility trends,” said Super Air Jet President Director Ari Azhari in an official statement on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
The latest Super Air Jet baggage rule applies to all domestic and international flights with the following provision:
(1). Passengers who purchase or exchange Lion Air tickets before July 17, 2025, will still receive free baggage of 15–20 kg, depending on the flight route.
(2). Lion Air passengers who purchase or exchange tickets on July 17, 2025, or later will receive 10 kg of checked baggage according to the latest provisions. (3). Lion Air passengers will still receive a cabin baggage allowance of 7 kg per person.
According to Ari, Super Air Jet is a Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) airline with the flexibility to set free checked baggage at zero kilograms, as outlined in Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 30 of 2021.
However, Super Air Jet provides 10 kg of free checked baggage to maintain customer comfort during flights.
Additionally, customers who need a larger baggage capacity can order the Pre-Paid Baggage service in advance at a more economical price through the official website, www.superairjet.com, or the BookCabin application.
This policy supports Super Air Jet’s commitment to developing the logistics sector and local businesses. Customers who carry large quantities of goods can now take advantage of cargo services as an efficient shipping solution that reaches various destinations in Indonesia.
“Super Air Jet continues to innovate so that every trip is enjoyable, practical, and affordable,” Ari added.
He concluded that this adjustment to the baggage policy is part of the company’s commitment to providing a flying experience relevant to today’s generation. [sources/photo special]
