BI: STRENGTHENING COLLABORATION IN REALIZING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

BANK INDONESIA (BI) has extended an invitation to us to collaborate, with the aim of fostering synergies to enhance the tourism sector, particularly among next-generation travelers, and encourage them to explore their own country.

According to the Deputy of Senior Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti in the opening of Indonesia’s creative work 2025 entitled “Next-Gen Tourism: Competing Smart, Developing Great, Sustainable” in Jakarta, Thursday (8/07), 2025, said we invites all related parties to strengthen collaboration in realizing sustainable tourism in Indonesia.

“Bank Indonesia emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability on the development of the tourism sector in Indonesia. The development of Indonesian tourism must prioritize sustainable tourism that is both competitive and able to provide a unique experience that has a high value.

Meanwhile Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa stated that the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029 directs the Indonesian tourism sector to prioritize quality and sustainable environmental tourism.

“This is expected to attract more quality tourists, both foreign and domestic. Following the termination of the pandemic status, sustainable tourism trends have emerged as the primary preference among global tourists. In response to the changing trends within the Ministry of Tourism, a Clean Tourism Movement (GWB) was established.

She added that the program was designed to create a clean destination while strengthening tourism sustainability. The Clean Tourism Movement is a program that encourages individuals to prioritize cleanliness. This issue is of importance not only to the central and local governments, but also to communities and the tourism sector.

“Tourism is a State Showcase. Clean and sustainable -managed destinations will provide a positive experience for tourists, which ultimately strengthens the image of Indonesia in the eyes of the world,” Ni Luh Puspa concluded. [traveltext.id]
