VIETJET EXPANDS FLIGHTS BY OPEN THE NEW HO CHI MINH CITY-MANILA ROUTE

THE LOW-cost airline from Vietnam Vietjet opened the new flight service route directly connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to the Filipino capital, Manila.

According to a press statement received on Friday, this route is projected to be a path that connects two Southeast Asian economic centers, as well as opening broader access to business, travel, and cultural exchange needs.

This new route will start operating on November 22, 2025 with a frequency of five round-trip flights every week. The move is also part of the Vietjet expansion strategy in the Asian region throughout 2025 which includes launching flight services to China, India, Japan and Singapore.

At present, Vietjet operates more than 145 domestic and international routes in the Asia Pacific region that connects Vietnam with various destinations in Indonesia and other countries in Asia-Pacific.

The network includes four direct routes, namely Bali-Ho Chi Minh City, Bali-Hanoi, Jakarta-Ho Chi Minh City, and Jakarta-Hanoi, who play a role in expanding and encouraging regional tourism growth.

In the first half of 2025, Vietjet reported from the air transport service segment of its income reaching VND35.601 trillion (around IDR20.66 trillion), with a profit before tax approaching VND1.6 trillion (around IDR929 billion), or an increase of 37% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Even in the same period, Vietjet had operated more than 79,000 flights and served 14.4 million passengers.

Vietjet also recorded in terms of fleet expansion and expanding its global presence throughout the first half of this year, by ordering an additional 20-Unit Airbus A330neo, so that the total order reached 40 aircraft and making Vietjet the largest A330Neo customer in the world. [antaranews]
