TOURISM Ministry confirmed that the massive flooding in Bali has not impacted tourist arrivals.
According to Tourism Minister, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana conveyed this after inspecting kiosks and art stalls at Kumbasari Market in Denpasar on Saturday, one of the areas most affected by the September 10 floods.
“We’ve checked and there have been no cancellations from tourists, no flight or hotel cancellations; in fact, they are fully booked. The situation is normal,” she said.
Wardhana also stated that the Bali Provincial Government has begun assessing the impact of the flooding and is discussing compensation for affected communities.
She emphasized that tourism operations remain smooth and conducive thanks to the provincial government’s mitigation efforts.
“So today we are here to inform the public and tourists that Bali is fine. We welcome tourists, but of course, there are improvements that need to be made,” the minister said.
During her visit to one of the worst-hit areas, Tourism Minister Wardhana accompanied President Prabowo, who also inspected the site and gave directions. The president advised the Tourism Ministry to continue promoting Bali’s positive aspects that attract tourists, ensuring that people from around the world will keep visiting. [antaranews]
