TRANSNUSA airline is opening an international route connecting Manado, North Sulawesi and Shenzhen, China starting Thursday (10/02), 2025. Tickets are sold starting from IDR3.4 million.
“The opening of the Manado-Shenzhen route is our commitment to continue providing connectivity that is beneficial to the community. We believe this route will be an important bridge in strengthening economic, cultural and tourism relations between Indonesia and China,” President Director of TransNusa, Bayu Sutanto said in an official broadcast, quoted Thursday (10/09), 2025.
Bayu said that the opening of the new route is expected to contribute to encouraging the growth of the tourism and business sectors. Especially in North Sulawesi as one of the main gateways for Chinese tourists to Indonesia.
“This route is also expected to provide faster, more comfortable and efficient access for tourists and business people traveling between the two destinations,” he said.
The flight from Manado is scheduled to depart at 21.00 WITA, and arrive in Shenzhen at 01.00 local time. On the other hand, flights from Shenzhen are scheduled to depart at 02.00 local time, and arrive in Manado at 05.50 WITA. A direct flight between these two destinations takes around 3 hours 50 minutes.
According to Bayu, this new route flight is served by a Comac C909 aircraft with a capacity of 95 seats, designed to provide comfort to passengers.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Radityo Ari Purwoko welcomed this new route. As is known, Manado is known for its natural and marine wealth. Also, Sam Ratulangi International Airport is considered ready to serve tourists from China.
It is hoped that the presence of the Manado-Shenzhen flight route will encourage an increase in the number of foreign tourists to North Sulawesi. At the same time, he said, it could open up new opportunities in the fields of trade and investment.
Shenzhen City is located in Guangdong Province, China. This area is a modern city known as a global center of technology and innovation. Apart from being a business city, Shenzhen also offers a variety of interesting tourist destinations.
Among them are: Splendid China Folk Village, Window of The World, and green spaces such as Lianhuashan Park. Not only that, in Shenzhen tourists can also enjoy beautiful beaches, explore shopping centers and a variety of culinary delights.
“In addition to opening international access, TransNusa also provides domestic connectivity from Manado to Bali and Sorong, two favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia. As is known, Bali is known as a world tourism icon with beautiful beaches, rich culture and lively nightlife,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Sorong is the gateway to Raja Ampat, a world-class destination with underwater panoramas and tropical islands.
