SCOOT EXPANDS SE. ASIAN NETWORK, ADDS 4 NEW ROUTES TO INDONESIA

SINGAPORE-based low-cost carrier Scoot has officially announced a major expansion in Southeast Asia with the launch of four new routes to Indonesia: Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang.

These new flight services will commence in stages from December 2025 to February 2026, strengthening Scoot’s position as one of the regional airlines with the most extensive network in the region.

This expansion will also be accompanied by an increase in flight frequency to several popular destinations, such as Bangkok, Bali, Jakarta, Koh Samui, Penang, and Yogyakarta, starting in October 2025, to meet the growing demand for air travel in Southeast Asia.

Labuan Bajo
Starting December 21, 2025, Scoot will operate twice-weekly flights to Labuan Bajo using Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.

This destination is known as the gateway to Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and offers natural beauty such as Padar Island, Wae Rebo Village, and exotic beaches in the Flores Sea.

Semarang
Flights to the capital of Central Java will begin on December 23, 2025, three times weekly using an Airbus A320, increasing to four times weekly on January 1, 2026.

Semarang is known for its colonial architectural heritage, such as Lawang Sewu, the Great Mosque of Central Java, and its diverse culinary offerings, such as lumpia (spring rolls) and wingko babat (traditional Indonesian food). Ticket prices start at IDR1.2 million.

Palembang
Scoot will begin flights to the capital of South Sumatra on January 15, 2026, with four flights per week using an Embraer E190-E2.

Palembang is one of the oldest cities in Indonesia, famous for the Ampera Bridge, the Great Mosque of Palembang, and its iconic culinary delights, pempek (a type of traditional Indonesian food). One-way economy class fares start at IDR 1.05 million.

Medan
The route to Medan will open on February 1, 2026, with daily flights using an Airbus A320.

As the gateway to Lake Toba, Medan also boasts a rich cultural heritage, with landmarks such as Maimun Palace and the Tjong A Fie Mansion. Ticket prices start at IDR850,000.

All flights transit through Changi Airport, Singapore, and can be booked through Scoot’s official website, mobile app, and other sales channels.
