SOEKARNO-Hatta International Airport is expanding its group Umrah services, centered at the Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. Starting August 7, 2026, four airlines—Ethiopian Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Royal Brunei Airlines—will serve the departure and arrival of group Umrah pilgrims through this terminal.
According to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport General Manager Heru Karyadi, said this operational expansion is a follow-up to the successful implementation of centralized Umrah services in July 2026. The addition of airlines to Terminal 2F will further integrate services for pilgrims.
“Following the successful implementation of services for Umrah airlines last July, we are again expanding the operational scope of the Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F,” Heru said in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (08/4), 2026.
With the merger of these four airlines, he hopes that services for pilgrims will be more centralized, resulting in more effective operational coordination and a more comfortable travel experience for pilgrims. Heru explained that the provision of Umrah services through the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F is part of the airport management’s commitment to improving the quality of service for pilgrims. Therefore, terminal operations will be evaluated periodically.
“We will continue to conduct regular evaluations of the operations of the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F to ensure that every service process runs smoothly and is continuously adjusted to operational needs on the ground,” said Heru.
Heru explained that the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F is equipped with various facilities to support pilgrimages, including a dedicated check-in area, a large-capacity waiting room, a prayer area, and other service facilities. These facilities are intended to provide comfort for pilgrims from departure to arrival.
Heru also added that terminal performance has also shown a positive trend since the gradual centralization of group Umrah services. From July 1-31, 2026, the Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F served 89,656 Umrah passengers, both departing and arriving.
With the addition of these four airlines, group Umrah services at the Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F now serve Loong Air, Hainan Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Scoot, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, EgyptAir, Oman Air, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Royal Brunei Airlines.
Heru emphasized that his office will continue to collaborate with regulators, airlines, Umrah Travel Organizers (PPIUs), ground handling companies, and all stakeholders to improve services for pilgrims. He is committed to making the Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F a hub for Umrah services that provides a safe, comfortable, and memorable travel experience for all pilgrims.
“Collaboration between all stakeholders is key to ensuring every operational process runs smoothly and providing optimal service to the public,” Heru concluded. [sources/photo special]
