THE INDONESIAN of Tourism continues to bolster Indonesia’s event ecosystem as part of a strategy to enhance destination appeal, attract tourists, and generate broader economic benefits for the community. Hosting international music concerts presents a strategic opportunity to solidify Indonesia’s standing as a world-class event destination while expanding the country’s global exposure.
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana expressed her appreciation to Raw Vision Collective and all parties involved, as well as the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, for their continued support in hosting international music concerts.
“International music concerts do more than just provide entertainment; they act as a driving force for the tourism economy. The presence of musicians and fans from various countries generates extensive economic activity—spanning ticket sales, accommodation, transportation, and culinary services to various other supporting sectors,” said Widiyanti Putri Wardhana.
According to Widiyanti said the Ministry of Tourism is actively promoting Indonesia as a world-class event destination through the ‘Event by Indonesia’ program. This year, the Ministry is also supporting concerts by Andrea Bocelli and BTS, which are set to take place in Indonesia.
“We launched ‘Event by Indonesia’ to strengthen the event ecosystem and create a wider impact on tourism and the community. We want every event to go beyond the mere staging of a show; we want them to attract tourists, boost MSMEs, create jobs, and generate economic value-add,” she stated.
From January to July 2026, a total of 105 events received support through the ‘Event by Indonesia’ program, comprising 18 national events, 10 international events, 61 ‘Karisma Event Nusantara’ (KEN) events, 14 MICE events, and 2 other regional events.
Impact assessment results indicate that these events involved over 6.47 million visitors, 11,000 MSMEs, and more than 184,000 artists and community members, with an estimated economic turnover reaching IDR1.09 trillion. This achievement highlights the immense potential of events as a driver of tourism growth. International-scale concerts, in particular, have the power to attract tourists while simultaneously boosting Indonesia’s global profile.
“Indonesia possesses great potential to deliver world-class experiences. Therefore, we continue to foster collaboration among the government, event organizers, industry players, and various stakeholders to further establish Indonesia as a destination for high-quality international events,” she concluded.
The Ministry of Tourism hopes that the momentum generated by hosting international music concerts will further strengthen Indonesia’s image as a destination that offers not only natural beauty and cultural richness but also world-class experiences through a variety of global-scale events.
