THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism is striving to expand the reach of Indonesia’s tourism promotion to Japanese travelers through the “Tourism Expo Japan 2026” exhibition.
“Through Tourism Expo Japan 2026, the Ministry of Tourism aims to strengthen partnerships with the Japanese tourism industry, showcase a wider range of Indonesian destinations beyond Bali, and invite Japanese travelers to embrace the ‘Go Beyond Ordinary’ spirit by exploring diverse, uniquely Indonesian tourism experiences,” said Ni Made Ayu Marthini, the Ministry’s Deputy for Marketing, in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Friday (9/18), 2026.
This participation serves as a pivotal moment to showcase the diversity of the archipelago’s destinations and tourism experiences while simultaneously expanding business networks with the Japanese tourism industry.
The Ministry of Tourism is presenting the Indonesia Pavilion during the event, which runs from September 24 to 27, 2026, at Hall E2, Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan. The pavilion features a variety of destinations, tourism products, and hospitality services, all presented under the latest “Wonderful Indonesia” campaign theme: “Go Beyond Ordinary.”
Eight representatives from the Indonesian tourism industry will participate by offering various products and travel packages to the Japanese market—ranging from destination management and robust air connectivity services to diverse accommodation options and wellness experiences.
In addition to highlighting Bali as one of Indonesia’s premier destinations, the Ministry is inviting visitors to explore the diverse destinations and experiences found across the archipelago. This promotion aims to broaden travel options for Japanese tourists, ensuring that their experiences in Indonesia extend beyond the destinations that are already widely known.
These business meetings form a crucial part of Indonesia’s participation in Tourism Expo Japan 2026, as they create opportunities for the national tourism industry to build partnerships, expand marketing networks, and introduce travel packages and experiences tailored to the characteristics of the Japanese market.
In addition to business activities and destination promotion, the Indonesian Pavilion features traditional dance and coffee-tasting sessions showcasing varieties from across the country, offering a more comprehensive picture of Indonesia as a destination rich in nature, culture, culinary delights, and wellness, as well as a wide range of quality tourism experiences.
