KLOOK AND VISA SUPPORT EXPERIENCE-BASED TOURISM IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

KLOOK and Visa announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering six markets in Southeast Asia to support the increasing tourism trend that focuses on activities and experiences that tourists want to experience.

This partnership, which spans Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, combines Klook’s travel experience ecosystem with Visa’s payment network for joint creator programs, special offers for cardholders, brand presence in destinations, and Klook’s participation as a partner of Visa’s iconic travel platform, Visa Destinations.

According to Sarah Wan, General Manager for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, Klook, said that in our various markets, tourists are now increasingly determining the activities they want to do first before choosing a destination.

“In this process, creators have a big role in influencing their choices. The Klook Creator program provides inspiration and ease of booking on one platform so that tourists can immediately realize the recommendations they find,” she said.

It said the partnership with Visa extends that experience to payments and additional benefits for users, while providing added value to creators in the region and the audiences who trust their recommendations.

Meanwhile, Gladys Chan, Head of Marketing, Regional Southeast Asia, Visa, said that tourism is one of the important drivers that shapes culture and economic growth in Southeast Asia. At Visa, we believe everyone has the right to travel according to their needs and preferences, and that journey begins long before payment is made.

“The collaboration with Klook combines Visa’s trusted payment network with a community of creators who can inspire travelers to make informed decisions. Together, we hope to bring Visa Destinations to more travelers in Southeast Asia and connect cardholders with the activities and experiences they care about most,” Gladys added.

The Visa Global Travel Intentions 2026 and Klook Travel Pulse 2026 studies show that Southeast Asian people’s interest in traveling remains strong despite various global economic challenges. Both studies also indicate changes in travel patterns, with tourists increasingly determining travel destinations based on the activities and experiences they want to enjoy. [sources/photo special]
