MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio stressed the need for anticipatory measures of all tourism sector stakeholders in the country to prevent the entry of the corona virus into Indonesia .
He said that at this time the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) continued to raise high awareness to prevent the corona virus outbreak from entering Indonesia.
Menister Wishnutama Kusubandio during a Coordination Meeting related to the joint corona virus, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto at the Office of the Ministry of Transportation, said tourism stakeholders including associations and all heads of Provincial and Regenc /City Tourism Offices were encouraged to participate in monitoring the flow of arrivals. foreign tourists at the entrance of the arrival of the state, both land, sea and air in their respective regions.

Regarding tourism promotion, Wishnutama also explained that Kemenparekraf has temporarily transferred tourism promotion and marketing activities to areas not affected by the corona virus spread.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a ‘travel advisory’ for Indonesian citizens to China, while for the promotion we diverted to the Wuhan market, there are still many other large markets that we can take such as the United States, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and others, not only China,” he added.
Tourism Minsitry hopes that the situation will recover soon and the outbreak can be dealt with as quickly as possible so that it does not become more widespread and fears related to the spread of the corona virus will not cause unrest for all parties.
“Appealing to travel agents to pay attention to the situation and the government’s appeal in selling outbound tourism packages to China and inbound China to Indonesia,” he said.
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi also explained that the Ministry of Transportation had closed flights to and from Wuhan, China, to anticipate the spread of the corona virus.
“We do ask officers at the airport and port to conduct more intensive inspection activities, but they must be accompanied by professional attitude, humble behavior, and manners,” he said.
