COVID-19, TOURISM MINISTRY IMPLEMENTS WORK FROM HOME POLICY

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency implemented a policy of working from home for some state civil servants in an effort to suppress the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Wishnutama Kusubandio in his statement said this decision was taken in accordance with national policies in line with the increasing spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) in Indonesia as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) official statement stating COVID -19 as a global pandemic.

“This policy was taken to prevent and minimize the spread of the Corona virus in government agencies in particular and the wider community in general,” Wishnutama Kusubandio said.

Minister of Tourism said, although the policy of working from home for some state civil servants was enacted, it would not reduce the form of service to the community, especially the tourism sector and the creative economy. In this policy a work system or scheme has been formulated that keeps the government function running.

“The implementation of the tasks and functions of each government agency is ensured to continue to achieve the performance targets of each organizational unit at the government agency,” Wishnutama said.

Wishnutama also ensures that it will continue to monitor the health conditions of employees and their families, and coordinate with relevant ministries/institutions to monitor developments.

Previously Wishnutama Kusubandio had also temporarily stopped tourism promotion activities and the creative economy while continuing to monitor developments.

“With awareness and joint efforts we will be able to get through this condition well. Everyone can, and must take their respective roles,” Wishnutama concluded. [traveltext.id]
