TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY ENSURES THERE WILL BE NO CLOSURE OF FOREIGN FLIGHTS

THE Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation ensures that there will be no closure of flights to the country except from and to Mainland China, which has been implemented since February 5, 2020.

“Certainly there is no temporary policy of closing international flights, except from and to Mainland China,” Director General of Civil Aviation, Novie Riyanto stressed.

This also straighten up the outstanding news that flights other than and to the Mainland China will be closed following the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s announcement regarding the Traffic Limitation Policy on People in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic which will be implemented starting tomorrow, March 20, 2020.

In connection with this policy, passengers arriving on international flights must complete the Health Alert Card (HAC) form. Passengers who in fourteen (14) days have a history of visiting Mainland China, Iran, Italy, South Korea for the city of Daegu and the provinces of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Vatican, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom will be denied entry into Indonesia. As for Indonesian citizens who have a history of visits to these countries will be examined by the Port Health Office.

Novie who is also the Chairperson of the National Air Facilitation Committee (FAL) ensures that he will continue to coordinate with the relevant Ministries/Institutions and other FAL members to ensure that government policies run well and in accordance with procedures.
