BANYUWANGI TOURISM & CREATIVE PLAYERS INVITED TO APPLY HEALTH PROTOCOL

MINISTRY of Tourism & Creative Economy invites tourism businesses and the creative economy to continue to implement strict health protocols as part of efforts to restore tourist destinations in Banyuwangi, East Java.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said that one of the good tourism strategies is not only to build infrastructure, create promotional concepts, and build resources, but to create new tourist attractions for Indonesian tourism by implementing hygiene protocols based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE).

“The tourism business is a business of trust. Banyuwangi’s tourism and creative economy businesses must implement health protocols with responsibilities so they can build trust and security for tourists,” Wishnutama said.

Wishnutama also conveyed the change in new tourism trends after the COVID-19 pandemic which will lead to quality tourism or higher quality tourism trips. For this reason, each region or tourist destination must really implement health protocols, especially destinations that will be visited by many tourists.

“Public health and economic productivity must be run in a balanced manner. Given the change in tourist patterns, each tourist destination must prioritize health protocols,” Wishnutama noted.

To support the return of tourist destinations in Banyuwangi, Tourism Ministry will facilitate the provision of toilet facilities in Alas Purwo and the Agro Tourism area in Tamansuruh. Also, hygiene and safety support tools such as, washing hands, trash bins, portable toilets, masks, face shields, gloves, PPE clothes, spray equipment, tents, life ring buoys, folding stretchers, signage (sign boards), and goggle glasses.

Wishnutama added, Tourism Ministry also continues to help raise tourism destinations in Banyuwangi in various forms of programs, for example in the online tourism, creative economy festival through talk show activities with the Head of the Tourism Office, one of whom invited the Head of the Banyuwangi Regency Tourism Office.

In addition, it will also conduct Fam Trips to destinations in Banyuwangi using ferry crossing services, Community Engagement, flash sale activities and B2C Epic sales conducted with e-commerce partners.

Meanwhile the Regent of Banyuwangi, Azwar Anas, said with the assistance provided by Tourism Ministry, the recovery of tourism and the economy in Banyuwangi could soon be restored until it could open jobs for the local community.

Azwar added that most of the Banyuwangi community had become aware of implementing health protocols. Starting from the use of technology and health protocol certification in various fields of business.

“We have made a health guide application and hygiene and health certification from the health department covering hotels, homestays, cafes, restaurants and food stalls,” Azwar said.

Likewise, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that in the period of adaptation to this new habit, it is hoped that the COVID-19 vaccine could soon be successfully produced in the near future so that the tourism sector will rise again and Luhut hopes that tourism conditions will be better than before.
