TOURISM MINISTRY IS CURRENTLY FOCUSING ON DOMESTIC TOURISTS

INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy is currently focused on attracting local (domestic)  tourists to visit various tourist destinations in Indonesia.

According to the Deputy for Tourism Products and Events Organizers of Tourism Ministry, Rizki Handayani said that the Ministry of Tourism is seeking various ways to make tourism recovery run quickly. I also saw that many tourism associations and tourist destination managers (administrators) were carrying out various promotions in new ways to encourage the rise of the tourism industry.

“You don’t have to think about foreign countries first, but the domestic ones that we will encourage. So the government will go there to encourage domestic tourists not to stop and will start slowly walking,” Rizki said.

She added, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara has also become one of the tourist destinations being promoted by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Labuan Bajo is one of the destinations that has used the new normal protocol.

“So why is this in Labuan Bajo because this is an effort to implement it so why should it be implemented? Because if we are not accustomed to the new model, we will never be ready, so that’s what we are doing, including the creative economy,” Rizki noted.

Rizki realizes that since March the tourism industry has begun to sluggish, on the bright side the government can improve on its future targets so that Indonesia does not only sell its natural beauty and culture.

“We see this to actually improve the direction of our tourism development in the future. So we see the dependence on tourism only, we see that there is an attraction only selling nature and culture. In fact, in the future there may have to be other things,” Rizky concluded. [traveltext.id/photo special]
