THE Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy encourages tourism and creative economy entrepreneurs to attract tourists by using Big Data.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said we must focus on domestic tourists we can use the Big Data approach. Which types of people will be interested in vacationing on Lake Toba. I believe that the existing data will make the promotion system more efficient.
During his dialogue with Lake Toba tourism and creative economy entrepreneurs, Sandiaga said that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered to boost five tourism destinations and the creative economy in the next year so that they can recover after the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said Jokowi wanted tourism and the country’s creative economy not only to focus on foreign tourists but also local tourists. Therefore, we want innovation to attract tourists with a technological approach. This approach will make it easier for tourism entrepreneurs and the creative economy to promote.
“Moreover, President Joko Widodo does not want to be promoted in an inappropriate and inappropriate place. Now with technology we can promote more efficiently,” he explained.
Sandi stated that the technology era must be utilized by tourism business actors and the creative economy for promotion. Because, people now who want to take a vacation or visit a place are facilitated by just an application.
“For example, Jabodetabek residents want to go to Bali. They choose to look for destinations through the application. So that’s where tourism and creative economy businesses are looking for. I am committed to helping realize this idea. Because people have also missed having a vacation because of the COVID-19 pandemic ,” Sandiaga noted.
He added, maybe that could be collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. I am committed to advancing the tourism sector and the creative economy not only in 2021 but beyond. Because the community has missed a vacation.
He also invited collaboration with local governments to improve the quality of human resources of the creative sector, and increase the quality and quantity of creative economy products. [traveltext.id]
