GARUDA SERVES JAKARTA-DENPASAR-JAKARTA ROUTE WITH WIDE BODY FLEET

GARUDA Indonesia airline will operate wide body aircraft on the Jakarta-Denpasar-Jakarta route starting Monday (22/3).

According to the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra said, the operation of wide body aircraft on the Jakarta-Denpasar-Jakarta flight service is Garuda Indonesia’s effort to continue maximizing public accessibility, given that this route is one of the flight routes with the highest flight frequency traffic in Indonesia.

In addition, this step is also part of the Company’s strategic effort in strengthening the market segment for Garuda Indonesia flights to Bali, which is one of the gateways for national tourism.

“The steps to optimize passenger entry, of course, are always in line with our commitment to implementing physical distancing during flights, which is the main focus of the value of Garuda Indonesia’s flight services during this new habit adaptation period,” said Irfan in his official press release.

Some of the wide body aircraft to be operated include the B777-300 ER with a capacity of 314 passengers (triple class) and 393 passengers (dual class), A330-200 with a capacity of 222 passengers, A330-300 with a capacity of 287 passengers and A 330-900 Neo with a capacity 301 passengers.

For information, previously the Jakarta-Denpasar-Jakarta flight route was mostly served with a B737-800 NG fleet with a capacity of 162 passengers on each flight.

“We certainly hope that the operation of this wide body aircraft can be an added value for all passengers in Garuda Indonesia’s efforts to provide safe and comfortable flight services by always prioritizing flight services that are consistent in implementing health protocols in all of its operational lines,” Irfan noted.

A little information, currently Garuda Indonesia serves about 56 flights for the route Jakarta-Denpasar vice versa each week out of a total of 104 flights served by Garuda Indonesia to and from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar. [photo special]
