THE Westin Jakarta, part of Marriott International, Inc announced today that the property will be participating in Journey Week, a regional initiative that is taking place in all Marriott International properties across Asia Pacific from 16 to 20 April, 2018.
According to Regan Taikitsadaporn, Chief Human Resources Officer at Marriott International said the main objective of the event is to encourage and inspire associates to shape their own future, and also to show potential employees why Marriott International is a great company to work for. Marriott International believes that a great career is a journey of self-discovery: people achieve personal fulfilment through new adventures.
“The company’s founders J.W. and Alice Marriott saw life as a journey – from the day they set out to Washington, D.C. to open their root beer stand, they never stopped exploring and reaching for new opportunities. Marriott International is equally committed to each of their associate’s journey, enabling them to grow personally and professionally with careers that flourish,” Taikitsadaporn said.
Taikitsadaporn also mentioned that Journey Week is a platform that reinforces our company’s global employer brand ‘To the Journey’. The week-long series of events will bring to life our value proposition: that Marriott International offers unmatched career opportunities coupled with a culture that empowers associates to live their best lives.
“On a property level, The Westin Jakarta will host a Journey Week Kick-Off Celebration on Monday, 16 March in which some associates, such as Johanes, Captain of Seasonal Tastes Restaurant will be sharing their own career journeys to inspire others to reach their own career goals. There will also be a focus on female leadership roles, in which inspiring female associates such as Wijayanti Kusuma, Westin Club Manager will be sharing her career journey,” Taikitsadaporn said.
In addition to the property-level activity, The Westin Jakarta will also collaborate with other Marriott International properties in Jakarta to host a career fair at Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Trisakti, to explain to potential new grads about the career opportunities available at Marriott International and recruit new talents.
Meanwhile Arun Kumar, General Manager of The Westin Jakarta said The Westin Jakarta aims for all associates to grow and excel in many opportunities available within Marriott International properties, by doing task force and assignments exposure with other sister properties and the many brands within the company. Our aim is to prepare all our associates to grow in their career.”
“With over 600 hotels in operation and a further 80 hotels slated to open in 2018, Marriott International in Asia Pacific presents a wide range of job opportunities as well as career growth prospects for its existing associates. Marriott International is expected to add approximately 19,000 job positions across Asia Pacific by the end of 2018,” he added. [traveltextonline.com]
