“Formerly Creative Economy has now joined the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. There has been a lot of infrastructure for creative economic development. Later we will make more such as making training workshops, to accessing capital. Because we are together (tourism ministry and creative econony) will work together and ecosystems that are very supportive of each other,” he said.
Wishnutama continued, the assistance was expected to be a stimulus so that the creative economy at the smallest level such as communities could be stretched and spread to all rural areas in Indonesia.
“Message from the President to us, the creative economy must be felt in small towns to the countryside. And with tourism, it can be synergized so that it will have a direct impact on society, create jobs, and thus create prosperity for the creative economy industry players going forward,” he added.
Tourism Ministry exemplifies Ambon City which was recently named a city of music by UNESCO. He said, between the creative economy and tourism in Ambon could be packaged so that the ecosystem there could open up opportunities for synergy between tourism and the creative economy, so that it could become the backbone of Indonesia’s economy going forward. And become the biggest source of foreign exchange for Indonesia.
“Example in Ambon. We all know, Ambon has been designated as a city of music by UNESCO, so that with that status we can use it as well as make room for talents. So tourism and the creative economy can go hand in hand,” Wishnutama revealed.
