MINISTER of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir revealed the appointment of a new board of commissioners and directors of Garuda Indonesia to address the two problems contained in the state-owned airline.
“What is the condition of Garuda Indonesia? Garuda has two things, not only in its business, there are other problems related to labor protection, especially for women,” said Erick Thohir in Jakarta.
Regarding the appointment of a number of figures such as former Head of the Creative Economy Agency Triawan Munaf and politician Yenny Wahid into the management of Garuda Indonesia which was considered to be divided up positions, Erick Thohir strongly denied this.
“Of course the reason is that if Triawan Munaf is a figure who innovates in the creative industry and in the Garuda era today the competition is not just flight services,” said the State-Owned Enterprises Minister.
According to Erick, in the current millennial era Garuda Indonesia must prepare the latest innovations and creativity in order to continue to compete. While regarding the entry of politician Yenny Wahid as a new independent commissioner in Garuda Indonesia, I said Yenny can protect the female workers in Garuda Indonesia. [antaranews/photo special]
