EMBASSY of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Bratislava took three tour operators from Slovakia, namely Alchemy Travel, Victory Travel, Go2 Travel and two from Indonesia, Nusa Dua Bali Tours and Travel, and Triptrik Travel at the International Travel Fair (ITF) Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro the 26th managed to record a potential transaction valued at IDR2.3 billion for 150 pax tour packages to Bali, Komodo and Papua.
According to the Information, Social & Cultural Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bratislava, Lely Meiliani said that the ITF Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro took place in the Incheba exhibition building in Bratislava, for four days from 23-26 January 2020, a place to promote Indonesia for foreign tourists in the Central and Eastern Europe.
While the Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia, Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady, hopes that Indonesian and Slovak tour operators take advantage of tourism exhibition moments to sell Indonesian tourist destinations, not only Bali but also “Beyond Bali” destinations.
The ambassador asked for a joint effort to attract foreign tourists from Slovakia in the form of groups or packages so as to increase foreign exchange earnings from the tourism sector given the average flow of foreign tourists from Slovakia to Indonesia always increases every year.
Meanwhile President Incheba, Alexander Rozin, expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s participation as a participant from Asia and assured that Asia’s exotic destinations are still one of the destinations most sought after by Europeans, especially Slovaks.
“ITF Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro 2020 offers a package of various tourist destinations, historical monuments, world wonders, including the service sector in tourism such as various accommodation, culinary options, and other information needed by tourists,” he said.
The ITF Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro 2020 was attended by 732 participants, who not only came from Slovakia but also from 24 countries and the tourism board. Around 70,000 visitors crowded the area of 17,000 m2.
In contrast to the previous year, this year Indonesia was the only Asian country involved in this activity. As in previous years, this event was also arranged by the promotion of gastronomy, and allocated a special area for hunting, fishing and camping equipment and equipment.
Slovak Deputy Foreign Minister Luke Parizek said the ITF Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro 2020 had the support of the Slovak government. This is due to the importance of advancing the tourism industry in Slovakia, introducing the wealth of Slovak agricultural, livestock and gastronomic products supporting Slovak domestic food security.
The potential for tourists from Slovakia as well as other Central and Eastern European countries is quite high, the Indonesian Embassy every day presents new Indonesian tourist destinations that are included in the “10 New Bali” project on the ITF Slovakiatour main stage.
The Indonesian Embassy also promotes superior Indonesian products that have entered the Slovak market, such as coffee from various regions in Indonesia which are carried out by Indonesian coffee distributors in Slovakia, namely Chute and Petimera, as well as various Indonesian products that have been on the Slovak market such as instant noodles, organic rice , vanilla, nutmeg, soy sauce, and ginger candy, coffee candy and chocolate.
