THE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would restrict access to Indonesian (RI) Citizens and Foreign Citizens from Iran, Italy and South Korea to Indonesia from March 8, 2020 in anticipation of the spread of the corona virus or COVID-19 domestically.
This was said by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi on Thursday (5/3/2020). She said there was a significant increase in COVID-19 cases outside China, especially in three countries, namely Iran, Italy and South Korea.
“For the sake of all, for the time being Indonesia has adopted a new policy for travelers from the three countries,” he said.
First, the prohibition of entry and transit to Indonesia for migrants and travelers in the last 14 days of traveling in the following regions, Iran in the Tehran region, Qom, Jilan. Italy Lombardia, Veneto, Marche, Piedmont, and Emilia-Rogmana. The South Korean regions included are Daego and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
Secondly, migrants and travelers from outside the three countries must show a health certificate issued by the competent authority in each country.
“The letter must be valid and valid on the airline at the time of entry. Without that letter, migrants will be refused entry or transit in Indonesia,” she said.
Third, before landing from the three countries, travelers must fill out a health alert card or health alert card provided by the Republic of Indonesia.
The card contains travel history questions. If in the history concerned he has traveled to one of the areas mentioned in the last 14 days he will be refused entry or transit.
Fourth, for Indonesian citizens who travel from the three countries from the area I mentioned earlier, an additional inspection will be conducted at the arrival airport.
This policy will take effect on Sunday (03/08/2020), 00.00 WIB, and is temporary, and will be evaluated in accordance with developments. [antaranews/photo special]
