BORED AT HOME? LET’S HAVE A VIRTUAL PICNIC EXPLORING TO AUSTRALIA

GOING for advice at home during the COVID-19 pandemic is boring, and you must be creative in looking for entertainment or unusual activities while still obeying the government’s recommendations.

A picnic or virtual tour might be an alternative for you to overcome boredom while undergoing quarantine at home, in addition to other activities.

The following virtual tourist destinations in Australia that you can visit online or stream from your home couch while “snacking” through the link shared by Tourism Australia:

National Gallery of Victoria

Visit one of the oldest and most visited galleries in Melbourne, Victoria, the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). The gallery has a wide range of collections of local and international artists, exhibitions, programs and events, ranging from contemporary art to international historic exhibitions, fashion and design, architecture, vocals and dance.

NGV has just launched a virtual tour program, the NGV Channel, which allows tourists to explore the contents of the museum virtually.

So now, tourists can join the tour which will be performed by curators for free. The tour presented artwork from Collecting Comme, a local NGV Marking Time art collection in collaboration with KAWS, titled “Companionship in the Age of Loneliness” and Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s art titled Crossing Lines.

Melbourne Museum

You can continue your journey to the Victoria cultural institution by visiting exhibitions at the Melbourne Museum. Take a tour of the First Peoples exhibition and learn about the diverse languages, history and culture of Victorian Aboriginal people.

The museum’s expert team will host the question and answer session on the video, where tourists can ask questions. In total there are six virtual tours available here.

Tourists can uncover Aboriginal stories in Victoria, walk around native flora and fauna of Australia, or return to prehistoric times in Australia; this tour is also good for students who want to broaden their horizons while the school is closed.

Museum of Old and New Art (Mona)

Continue to Tasmania, you can visit the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), which is really stylish like Mona, where tourists can watch the live broadcast of the Team at 06:00 and 12:30 WIB every day.

Tim is a former tattoo salon manager in Zurich, Tim Steiner has an amazing tattoo on his back designed by a famous artist whose work was bought by a German art collector. As of 2011, the Team has been sitting in Mona for more than 3,500 hours.

As long as the museum is closed to the public, the Team remains seated in Mona and registers an additional few hours while practicing rules to maintain social distance. As part of the agreement, the Team spent its days sitting in the gallery so people could admire the artwork that was on their bodies.

Explore Uluru

You can also explore the interior of Australia’s iconic northern region, Uluru, using Story Spheres. Prepare to enter the sacred area, while enjoying the beauty of Uluru. Each Story Sphere offers a 360 degree visual angle with audio clips to create an interactive experience somewhere.

The guide will also share important cultural insights and stories throughout the tour. This tour also provides the best experience for tourists through a video that provides the sound of birdsong in the desert. How fun virtual vacation to prevent boredom at home!

Sydney

It’s time to visit one of the largest cities in Australia, Sydney. Of course a trip to Sydney isn’t complete if you haven’t visited the Sydney Opera House, Australia’s most famous landmark. Sydney Opera House offers a 360 degree visual tour where tourists can explore iconic sites according to taste.

In this tour, tourists can explore the history of the opera house architecture and its flagship performances. Don’t forget to see a number of Sydney Symphony Orchestra exhibitions and online shows.

For those who want to see beautiful panoramas of Sydney Harbor, Webcam Sydney provides live streaming where tourists can see panoramas of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge, Circular Quay and The Rocks. When taking a tour, make sure you also see a beautiful sunset accompanied by a sparkling night light in the harbor area.

Adrenaline adventure

For adrenaline junkies who want to drive adrenaline from the home couch, Merlin Entertainments offers live broadcasts for a variety of attractions throughout Australia, including a virtual zipline tour on Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures via their Facebook page.

Tourists will feel the excitement descending rapidly from the height of the treetops of Australia with the help of a virtual guide. This tour will take tourists flying across the canopy and see the stunning views of the Illawarra / South Coast countryside and the coastline from the top of the Illawarra Cliffs.

Cute koalas

You can see live streaming of cute koalas who love to cuddle at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Queensland. There are a number of cameras that can be used to view koalas, ranging from the cuddle-style “cuddle train” style of koalas to the opportunity to see Joeys, a cheerful young koala.
