THE management of Trans Nusa airline said it could not operate at this time in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) despite the decision of the NTT provincial government to open flights between regions in the province.
According to Trans Nusa’s Vice Chairman Leo Budiman in Kupang said for the time being, we have to see how the mechanism works and how it will develop in the future. I convey this in connection with the permissibility of flights in the NTT region, especially for flights between regencies / cities in the province in accordance with the decree issued by the NTT Transportation Office.
Although currently operating, Leo does not deny the possibility of Trans Nusa serving flights in the island-based province.
However, he continued, management prioritizes the safety of employees and customers who have always worked well and always use the services of the airline.
He is worried that continuing to operate at times like this will endanger themselves from their employees and also the airline’s customers.
“It is very possible that we will operate again, but for now we prioritize the safety of our employees and customers,” he added.
Previously the Government of the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) said that it would continue to open inter-regional flight access in the island-based province.
Meanwhile NTT Coordination Coordinator and Task Force for the Handling of NTT COVID-19, Isyak Nuka said inter-regency/city flight operations within the NTT region continue to operate as usual. It’s just that the airline and the airport are required to continue to pay attention to health protocols and physical distancing policies that apply to aircraft passengers in accordance with applicable regulations.
Regarding flights from outside NTT, the Head of the NTT Transportation Office said flights from outside NTT were still not allowed.
Except for aircraft carrying the leadership of high state institutions and state guests, operations of embassies, consulates general and foreign consulates as well as representatives of international organizations. [antaranews/photo traveltext.id]
