WISHNUTAMA: TOURISM & CREATIVE ECONOMY INDUSTRY ENCOURAGED BY REMODELING

THE tourism sector and the creative economy are significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, so remodeling needs to be encouraged in the steps ahead so that they can survive and thrive. Not only in the pandemic but also in the era after the discovery of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio, Thursday (11/6) said the Tourism Ministry had prepared a new normalcy protocol that could later be applied in all lines of tourism and the creative economy.

“The new normality protocol which focuses on hygiene, health and safety aspects is also a guide for all stakeholders in conducting the remodeling. We have prepared a protocol and currently there is a harmonization of all ministries that handle certain fields to be later published by the Ministry of Health,” Wishnutama said.

Wishnutama explained the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy had also prepared derivatives of the protocol, both in the form of videos or guidebooks. So that it will be easy for the tourism sector and the creative economy to carry out its activities. This harmonization is important so that there is no overlap, making it easier for players and stakeholders to implement the protocol. In a sense they can remain productive but are also safe from COVID-19.

“The President’s message, this protocol must be implemented well, not in a hurry, so that later in time the tourism sector and the creative economy can be opened productive and remain safe from COVID-19. That is fundamental in the direction of the president,” Wishnutama noted.

He ensured that destinations that would rebound faster were places that could give the public confidence that they were indeed prepared with these protocols.

“All tourism and creative economy stakeholders must also be optimistic that in the future this sector will really rise even further, especially when it enters the post-vaccine era COVID-19. The development of tourism and the creative economy will continue to run and become one of the supports of the national economy,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
