THE Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has prepared seven new leading tourist destinations to be visited by domestic and foreign tourists.
According to the Chairman of the NTT Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD, Rocky Pekudjawang said that recently during the COVID-19 pandemic, NTT did not remain silent but continued to fix several leading tourist destinations to be presented to tourists, of which there were seven new leading destinations that had been completed.
“The seven new tourist destinations include Liman Beach on Semau Island, Kupang Regency, Thousand Mouth Waters in Rote Ndao Regency, natural and cultural tourism Fatumnasi of South Central Timor Regency,” said Rocky.
He added, besides that, the Praimadita Traditional Village tour, East Sumba Regency, beach tourism in Moru, Alor Regency, and nature tourism around Kelimutu National Park, Ende Regency. In these seven destinations, supporting facilities have been built such as home stays, huts, and the formation of institutions and training for the people who manage them.
“These destinations as a pilot in the framework of implementing community-based tourism programmed by the local government. Even entering the new normal in NTT as of June 15, NTT began to open up including attractions for tourists to visit,” he said.
According to him, the tourism business continues as usual while still paying attention to health protocols related to COVID-19 prevention regulated by the local government.
Rocky said that his office had internally prepared a strategy to be ready with all requests coming from domestic and foreign tourists traveling to NTT.
“We in NTT also continue to actively invite investors to enter and invest in tourism. So please anyone who wants to enter, we open ourselves for that,” he finished. [antaranews/photo special]
