THE development of various Geoparks in Indonesia that continues to be carried out by the government at this time, one of the aims is to increase the type of nature-based tourism. He also reiterated, that there will be no exploitation of nature, but what will be encouraged is sustainable tourism.
According to Maritime and Investment Coordinating Ministry Deputy for Maritime and Investment Coordinating Ministry, Safri Burhanudin revealed the analysis of observers, tourists visiting natural attractions tend to increase due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It means we have to fix the facilities and everything, our hope is that the Geopark manager can build infrastructure better.
“Geopark means not only building, but the preservation of nature is also absolute. Sustainable tourism and not exploiting tourism, there is a strategy, such as how many tourists are allowed to enter it,” he said in a virtual forum, Geopark Development recently.
He continued, in Geopark tourism, aspects of nature conservation are the main and should not be contested by anyone. This means that the nature is not disturbed, the culture is not disturbed and all its contents are not disturbed. If for example in the future these things are disturbed, we declare that tourism has failed.
