THE luxury car brand under the auspices of Volkswagen AG, Audi officially released the concept image and detailed specifications of the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron electric car.
In the upload on the official Audi website, the concept photo of the Q4 Sportback displays which visibly looks like a sport utility vehicle (SUV) model, as well as a coupe variant. The production of the car is scheduled to take place next year.
The Q4 Sportback e-tron will join the Audi lineup in 2021 as the seventh electric car. This model will share the MEB platform with the Q4 e-tron and various other electric models in the Volkswagen Group.
Physically, the Q4 Sportback e-tron is almost identical to the Q4. The length of this car reaches 4.60 meters and 1.60 meters high. The Sportback is only one centimeter longer, while the Q4 variant is wider with a size of 1.90 meters and a wheelbase of 2.77 meters.
The Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron has 22-inch wheels and gets an LED lighting segment. Audi said that the owner can choose the pattern of daytime running lights as desired.
Equipped with electric motors at each end, the Q4 Sportback e-tron will send propulsion to four wheels with a torque vector. This car is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 6.3 seconds.
This capability is produced thanks to the use of 82kWh batteries. The rear drive motor will produce 150kW per 310Nm, while the one in front will produce 75kW per 150Nm for a combined 225kW per 460Nm. Audi states that recharging the battery up to 80 percent only takes about 30 minutes, because of the 125kW charging capability, and will have a driving range of 450 km on the WLTP standard.
The focus on aerodynamics also brought the drag coefficient of the model down to 0.26 – 0.01 lower than the Q4 e-tron SUV. High rear hatches are split into two panes of glass to increase aerodynamics and increase range, without reducing visibility.
From the interior, Audi states the concept of the e-tron Q4 Sportback offers spaciousness and comfort because there is no limiting transmission tunnel. Leg room for front and rear passengers will be more relieved. In addition, the color game is also called to provide a more spacious interior feel.
