MINISTER of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas), Suharso Monoarfa said that Bali was safe for tourists to visit during the pandemic because the indigenous community system in the area participated in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
“They have Pecalang (customary security officer), it’s a community system. If anyone is affected, they can anticipate quickly. In addition to indigenous communities, health facilities on the island are considered adequate considering this area is a world tourist destination,” he said.
Suharso explained then that the affected rate (COVID-19) began to decline and hopefully could continue to survive. While the Balinese themselves, also apply health protocols including using masks, keeping a distance until the availability of hand sanitation facilities at a number of points.
In addition, he explained, tourism facilities including hotels and restaurants also implement health protocols. So don’t worry, prevention with a strong community system with the Pecalang system, then the people themselves apply high discipline.
The PPN Minister is currently in Bali on a working visit to Bali, one of which is to ensure a number of priority projects are carried out in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Provincial Government of Bali opens archipelago tourist visits from 31 July 2020 and plans to be followed by foreign tourists from 11 September 2020.
To visit Bali, according to the Bali Governor’s Circular Number 15243 in 2020, domestic tourists must prepare negative results of rapid tests or swab tests, and fill out forms in the Love Bali application that can be accessed on the https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id.
“Then apply the health protocol until the call to activate the Global Positioning System (GPS) on smartphones for protection and security for tourists,” Suharso concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
