MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio, said that economic recovery in the tourism sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic in general will be the government’s major program in 2021.
“Apart from that, it also pays attention to the development of 3A aspects (attractions, accessibility, and amenities) in destinations, especially in 5 Super Priority Destinations. In 2021 tourism development is directed at encouraging general economic recovery,” he said.
He added that the program in the future will focus on restoring tourism, especially developing five priority destinations, namely Lake Toba, Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Likupang. The policy starting next year, he continued, will also emphasize efforts to develop aspects of 3A, attractions, accessibility and amenities.
“Apart from that, I also emphasize the increase in 2P, namely Promotion and Participation of private business actors. On the other hand, a storynomics tourism approach will be carried out that prioritizes narrative, creative content, living culture, and cultural strengths, as well as the use of PPP schemes in building entertainment centers, such as theme parks that will absorb many tourists.
According to him, tourism development is not just building infrastructure or creating events. There is also an important thing, namely increasing the interpretation of a tourism place or destination.
“Storynomics tourism, for example, is a tourism approach formula that prioritizes narrative, creative content, and cultural life, as well as using cultural strengths as destination DNA,” Wishnutama noted.
Packaging the beauty of Indonesian tourism in one story is important in the tourism sector development plan, especially in 5 super priority tourism destinations in 2021.
“Through these strategies, it is hoped that it can provide a broader picture of the interesting stories behind these super priority tourist destinations,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
