INDONESIA could follow the travel trade fair, TravelRevive, which took place in Singapore. TravelRevive is the first travel trade show event in Asia-Pacific since the COVID-19 pandemic. This exhibition was held using very strict health protocols to prevent transmission of the corona virus.
According to Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Exhibition Companies (Asperapi), Hosea Andreas Runkat recently said I hope Indonesia will follow this example, I also sent it to the Ministry of Tourism, not indulgent but I gave them a look that Singapore is already running, don’t ask why I was here or what, but the event is already running.
“There are many things that can be emulated from the implementation of TravelRevive for exhibitions in Indonesia, such as security and safety protocols, zones for sellers and buyers to digitization,” Hosea said.
Hosea explained this is very good, that’s what we can adopt. Yes, the point is from TravelRevive today, there is a lot of experience, yes, we got a lot of education, we got a lot from here for our industry.
Meanwhile, the TravelRevive event is a lighter to revive the travel and MICE industry in the world. According to Hosea, Singapore has had some success in starting what was considered impossible in a pandemic situation.
“This is a trigger for an international event. This is something that is quite encouraging for the MICE industry, I am sure the platform is a hybrid everyone can see, at least Singapore has started, it is also nice for Singapore because someone should have started, if no one has started then. I’m not going to start,” Hosea noted.
Hosea also said government support was essential to revive the tourism industry, which had been sleeping.
“This is proof that our business still exists, it is still running, but yes, there must be government support. I am also sure that Singapore, if the government is not active, this will also not work,” Hosea concluded. [antaranews]
