THE wheel will always rotate, but for certain people who understand playing it, they don’t need to participate in turning but stay on top and enjoy the game. Perhaps that is the right byword for Sandiaga Salahudin Uno. At the age of 51 he was appointed Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
The journey of his political and business career went hand in hand and was prospective even since he was very young. His appointment and decision to accept the position of Minister of Tourism also seems to have gone through careful reflection and calculation considering that the alumnus of Wichita State University is almost never careless in his steps.
As someone who has scored so many best achievements in many ways, he hopes that various parties will be able to solve various problems in the world of tourism and the creative economy.
According to ASEAN DPP Coordinator Asita Edwin Ismedia Himna, for example, stated that he was optimistic that Sandiaga Uno would provide many solutions and breakthroughs considering his background and track record in the business world so far which was even recorded in the international world.
Even though Edwin realizes that even more of the businesses Sandi is engaged in is not directly related to the tourism sector and the creative economy.
However, he emphasized that the world of tourism industry has understood that whoever the minister who leads the parecraph sector at the time of this pandemic must face tough challenges that are very difficult to make policies.
Edwin still hopes that Sandiaga Uno will be able to drive domestic tourism as quickly as possible while adhering to the CHSE protocol.
“We hope he will be able to expand cooperation with airlines to re-open access to tourist destinations,” said Edwin.
