MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy stated that it would accelerate efforts to restore the parekraf sector and asked its staff to carry out all programs responsibly through good governance.
According to Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said I want all the projects we do on time, on budget, on schedule, and on specification and run with full responsibility and good governance.
This is a follow-up to the work agenda carried out by the previous Minister of Tourism in Bali and mentioned that many industry players in the tourism sector and creative economy were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is necessary to move fast but on time, and move together in carrying out the programs and policies of the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy.
On that occasion, Sandiaga provided directions including to be able to improve the adaptability of tourism and creative economy actors in utilizing digital platforms.
“This is based on my discussions with creative economy actors in Ubud and several other places. That reskilling and upskilling programs as well as capitalization and assistance for creative economy products need to be implemented. I asked the relevant deputies to prepare the program, so that it runs according to the timeline,” he said.
He added, there needs to be a review of the terms of providing loans for tourism businesses and the creative economy which are still considered burdensome. In addition, it is necessary to readjust the strategic program implemented according to the evaluation results.
“This is done so that we are able to accommodate the needs of tourism actors and the creative economy. Furthermore, I also encourage the potential of agro-tourism so that it can be developed, including the assistance program in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture regarding this matter,” he concluded.
