ASSOCIATION of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI) held the First National Meeting of 2021 with the theme ‘Menjaga Asa Memulihkan Pariwisata Indonesia’ or maintaining hopes of restoring Indonesian tourism.
According to Hariyadi Sukamdani, Chairman of PHRI, said through this activity PHRI wants to re-cultivate enthusiasm and optimism in the tourism industry, especially in the hotel sector, so that they can rise again to face current challenges and post-pandemic challenges.
PHRI, he continued has always conveyed optimism that the tourism industry can contribute to the national economy through various cooperation programs with tourism stakeholders since the beginning of 2020, when COVID-19 began to spread.
“Some of the breakthroughs include; undertaking the Tourism Grants Fund program, providing hotels for repatriation programs, and vaccinating members of hotels and restaurants in Indonesia. The implementation of this National Working Meeting is also an effort and form of PHRI’s commitment to restore national tourism which has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Hariyadi Sukamdani said.
He explained, in the PHRI First National Meeting in 2021 which was held on a hybrid basis, hundreds of tourism actors in the hotel sector were participated and a number of representatives from ministries/agencies. They are here to discuss various challenges and find solutions to accelerate the recovery of national tourism.
Meanwhile, PHRI also opens opportunities for collaboration with stakeholders as a real effort to restore national tourism. One of them is PHRI’s collaboration with AirAsia airline which launched the SNAP promotion program (AirAsia hotel and flight packages). This program aims to encourage tourist visits to priority destinations that are currently being developed by the government.
“If the stakeholders collaborate with each other, the recovery process for the Indonesian tourism industry will be faster,” Hariyadi Sukamdani concluded. [traveltext.id]
