THE Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, explained the four main pillars that are the key to the awakening of tourism and creative economy from a downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“First, we have to spread the spirit of motivation because a lot of tourism and creative economy actors this year have really experienced tremendous pressure, loss of livelihoods and layoffs,” Sandiaga Uno said when speaking in an online discussion entitled Reimagining The Future of Indonesia, in Jakarta, Monday (22/3).
He said that the policies produced by the government must be able to foster the enthusiasm of tourism and creative economy players to be able to withstand the difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After this spirit is maintained, then apply the second pillar, namely the way to get back up.
“The second pillar is how they revive (come back to life) or they see opportunities with adaptations. In terms of technology, on boarding, using CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment) as their strategy to survive and survive,” Sandiaga said.
Then the third pillar, he continued called becomes the most pillar is the tourist village. Indonesia with its 75 thousand villages, more than 1000 villages that have the potential and 244 of them have entered the tourism village program.
“It remains just how this tourism village can become a program that can be inclusive and embrace our friends who are actually in the lowest economic sector. Meanwhile, the last pillar is to dismiss the notion that the tourism sector and the creative economy are a medium for the transmission of COVID-19,” he stated.
Sandiaga added, we must firmly convey to the public, to friends in the government, the business world, that tourism and the creative economy are part of the solution for community awakening.
“I hope that the implementation of these four pillars can revive 34 million Indonesians who depend on the tourism sector and the creative economy,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
