INDONESIAN Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, said that the domestically made COVID-19 detection tool, GeNose, began to be used at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, Saturday (10/4).
“Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport is the 5th airport to implement GeNose after the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport in Palembang, Bandung’s Husein Sastranegara Airport, Yogyakarta International Airport, Surabaya’s Juanda Airport on April 1,” said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya in a press release in Jakarta, Saturday (10/4).
Budi Karya expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the Bali Regional Government and PT Angkasa Pura 1 for supporting the availability of GeNose services at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport.
“This GeNose service has been tested. In the railroad sector, 500 thousand passengers have been applied and the passengers claim to feel more comfortable because it is more affordable, does not hurt, and has a high degree of accuracy,” Budi Karya noted.
He added that passengers can pay IDR40,000 to use the GeNose C-19 inspection service at Ngurah Rai Airport. The location is located in the public area of the Bali Airport departure terminal with operational times starting at 09.00-19.00 WITA.
The application of GeNose in transportation nodes such as airports is carried out as a follow-up to Task Force Circular Number 12 of 2021 concerning Domestic Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic, which was issued in the Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter Number 26 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of People Travel Home Affairs With Air Transportation During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
